I use weswap

You can load up in most currencies and if you are happy to wait 7 days you get the best rate and commission free. Sell it back and it is peer to peer so again best rates.

It’s a MasterCard so works most places. Saves lugging cash around

What Defjam said, but I have a Halifax Clarity card. Use local cashpoints for cash, if prompted select to be charged in local currency (always) and pay off cash withdrawals asap. Same advantages for normal card payments but no need to pay off immediately. Obviously always pay off in full every month

Saved me bundles.

Got a Horizon credit card that uses the market rates and no foreign exchange fees.

Probably saved $100's on a recent trip to the U.S

Mind you the $ rate is shite.
